Job description

Saint Francis School is seeking an experienced and compassionate educator to join our team in a hybrid role supporting our Specialized Reading Program and serving as a Supply Teacher.

This position is ideal for someone with training, experience, or a strong interest in working with struggling readers, including students who benefit from structured literacy, reading intervention, or additional academic support.

The position will provide an opportunity to spend part of the school day working alongside our Specialized Reading Program and part of the day serving as a Supply Teacher across the school. This role offers variety while allowing the right candidate to develop meaningful relationships with students and make a direct impact on their academic growth.

Responsibilities
  • Support students receiving specialized reading instruction and intervention.

  • Work alongside our Specialized Reading staff to reinforce literacy skills and strategies.

  • Provide individualized or small-group support to students as appropriate.

  • Serve as a Supply Teacher in classrooms throughout the school when needed.

  • Follow lesson plans and classroom expectations when serving as a Supply Teacher.

  • Build positive relationships with students and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with teachers and members of our academic support team.

Ideal Candidate

We are especially interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience working with struggling or struggling-to-read students.

  • Training or experience in structured literacy, reading intervention, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or similar approaches.

  • Classroom teaching, tutoring, intervention, or learning-support experience.

  • A patient, positive, and encouraging approach to working with students.

  • A willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

  • A bachelor's degree and/or relevant educational experience preferred.

Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–3:45 PM (student attendance days)

  • Daily Rate: $150 per day

  • Potential to evolve into a full-time salaried position

  • Location: In person

  • Benefits: This position does not include benefits.

  • Additional Paid Opportunities: Coaching, club sponsorships, and school photography positions may also be available.
