Job description

This Operations Specialist is responsible for performing daily operational duties of a Groundwater Treatment Facility in the Baltimore / Philadelphia area. Must be able to travel to project sites. In this position you will:

  • Perform daily operation of a Groundwater Treatment Facility
  • Perform operational duties, daily testing and record keeping as well as process control functions
  • Responsibilities also include regulatory and safety compliance
  • Assist with routine maintenance and facility grounds upkeep
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position

Requirements

  • Apply basic knowledge of relevant principles and tools, as directed
  • Apply standard protocol for work, as directed
  • Communicate effectively by written and verbal means
  • Perform multiple concurrent tasks and meet timelines, as directed
  • Work well independently and as a team
  • 3 years of relative coursework or project experience in treatment plant operations
  • Education - High School diploma or GED is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in groundwater treatment technologies, including but not limited to metals removal systems, particulate filtration systems, sludge dewatering, ultraviolet oxidation, absorptive resin/steam regeneration systems, liquid and vapor phase granular activated carbon systems
  • A Maryland Class VI Operators license or equivalent, or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months employment.

The targeted base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 annually.
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
