Job description

Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Our client, a premier managed technology services firm based in New York, is looking for a full-time Network Engineer to spearhead their enterprise infrastructure initiatives. This is a high-impact role centered on designing and securing multi-site environments using a sophisticated tech stack that includes Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, Palo Alto firewalls, and Tailscale. If you are looking for a stable, permanent position where you can own the architecture of diverse client networks while working in a flexible, hybrid capacity, this is the opportunity for you.

Thereย is aย varietyย of environments youโ€™ll work on. You aren't just maintaining one network; you are the architect for a diverse portfolio of growing businesses. Our client fosters an "ego-less" engineering culture where your voice actually matters in shaping standards and selecting new tools. This isn't a "cog-in-the-machine" role; itโ€™s a career-defining position where youโ€™ll be mentored by a Senior Network Engineer and, in turn, mentor junior talent. If you love solving complex "impossible" network puzzles and want a role that rewards proactive ownership with genuine work-life balance and a clear path toward architecture leadership, youโ€™ll thrive here.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of core network administration experience (LAN/WAN, VPN, Firewalls).

  • 3+ years of hands-on network design and deployment in multi-site or enterprise environments.

  • Deep expertise in Firewall platforms (Segmentation, VPNs, and Secure Remote Access).

  • Proven experience as a senior escalation point for complex, multi-layer technical issues.

  • Strong background in leading full-lifecycle network and Wi-Fi projects from assessment to optimization.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, or Security+.

  • Experience with Cisco Meraki Dashboard, Ubiquiti UniFi, or Palo Alto platforms.

  • Familiarity with Ekahau or other RF/Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting tools.

  • Previous experience in a client-facing MSP or consulting environment.

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown:

  • 80% Network Engineering (Routing, Switching, Firewalls)

  • 20% Wi-Fi & RF Optimization

Daily Responsibilities:

  • 70% Hands-On Engineering & Deployment

  • 20% Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • 10% Client Strategy & Architecture Reporting

The Offer
  • Competitive Salary + Bonus Eligibility

  • Full-time, Exempt Status

You will receive the following benefits:

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Generous Paid Vacation and PTO

  • 401(k) and Retirement Planning

  • Hybrid Work Schedule and Commuter Benefits

  • Professional Development and Certification Support

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
