Job description

Network Support Specialist - Voice & Cisco DNA Center
Location: Winston Salem, NC (Onsite)
Experience: 4-8+ years

Role Overview
The Network Support Specialist is responsible for administering Cisco DNA Center and supporting enterprise voice infrastructure. This role combines network management, voice systems support, monitoring tools, and security administration to ensure reliable and secure network operations.
Key Responsibilities
Cisco DNA Center & Network Administration
  • Administer and maintain Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, and Network Access Control (NAC) environments.
  • Apply network standards, templates, and policies across enterprise infrastructure.
  • Monitor network health, compliance, and performance through DNA Center dashboards.
  • Maintain network asset inventory and configuration records.

Voice Systems Support
  • Support Cisco Call Manager and enterprise voice infrastructure.
  • Assist with Microsoft Teams Voice migration activities.
  • Troubleshoot voicemail systems and voice-related issues.
  • Coordinate support and lifecycle management of Cisco IP telephony solutions.

Network Monitoring & Operations
  • Configure and support SolarWinds network monitoring solutions.
  • Integrate monitoring tools with ITSM platforms for automated incident management.
  • Monitor alerts, investigate issues, and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Troubleshoot NTP, DHCP, and related network service issues.

Security & Compliance
  • Maintain Cisco ISE and NAC security policies.
  • Support security audits, compliance initiatives, and remediation activities.
  • Participate in change management and infrastructure governance processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to resolve network-related issues.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, architecture documentation, and configuration records.
  • Document infrastructure changes, upgrades, and operational procedures.
  • Provide regular status updates and technical reports.
  • Maintain implementation plans and support documentation.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or network support.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, and NAC technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications and voice systems administration.
  • Experience with SolarWinds Network Monitoring and ITSM integrations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Voice/Direct Routing solutions.
  • Understanding of network security, access control, and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Collaboration, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale voice migration projects.
  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring, automation, and network management tools.

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001- $90,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
