Position Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences invites applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Training Program Administrator for the Anesthesiology Residency Program.
This is a University at Buffalo-affiliated position employed by University at Buffalo Anesthesiology, Inc., a New York not-for-profit university faculty practice corporation. This is not a New York State or University at Buffalo employment position. Employment benefits and policies are provided through University at Buffalo Anesthesiology, Inc. and differ from those available to University at Buffalo/SUNY employees. The successful candidate will work closely with University at Buffalo faculty, residents, medical students, Graduate Medical Education (GME), and departmental staff in support of the Anesthesiology Residency Program. Employment benefits and policies associated with this position are provided through the affiliated employer and differ from those offered to University at Buffalo/SUNY employees.
In this position, you will:
  • Coordinate administrative activities supporting the Anesthesiology Residency Program, including recruitment, applicant interviews, onboarding, orientations, graduation, and other program events.
  • Maintain resident schedules, program records, evaluations, compliance documentation, and required data within MedHub and other institutional systems.
  • Support compliance with ACGME, ABA, GME, University, FERPA, HIPAA, and departmental requirements and deadlines.
  • Coordinate educational activities including didactics, Journal Club, Visiting Professor lectures, Town Halls, Mock Oral sessions, and other resident programming.
  • Assist the Program Director and Training Program Administrator with residency recruitment, medical student engagement, Anesthesiology Interest Group activities, and departmental communications and media.
  • Coordinate Residency Council activities and meetings, including meeting preparation, attendance, minutes, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, medical students, and departmental and institutional partners to support the day-to-day operations and continued success of the residency program.
  • Provide administrative and departmental coverage as needed, including responding to incoming telephone calls and assisting visitors.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or two (2) years of full-time experience in a clinical or administrative setting.
  • Skill in the use of word processing, slide presentations, report retrieval functions, etc.
  • This position includes occasional non-standard (evening/weekend) work hours- flexible availability is necessary.
  • Proficiency in the use of a residency credentialing system.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree and three (3) years of experience in a clinical or administrative setting.
  • Proficiency in the use of MEDHUB.
  • Experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) of one (1) year.
