Date Updated: July 2026

Summary:

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the Manufacturing Production Scheduling System (MPSS) that aligns customer demand with labor capacity and manufacturing constraints in a trade-driven manufacturing environment. This role serves as the central planning authority across shop, field, project, and supply chain functions, ensuring fabrication work is sequenced, resourced, and released in alignment with project milestones and field installation requirements. Operating without formal planning software, the role relies on structured Excel-based tools, disciplined planning processes, and close coordination with Shop Operations, Field Teams, Inventory Planners, Fabrication Planners, Virtual Construction (VDC), and Project Management.

Essential Functions:

Translate backlog and incoming demand into a time-phased, trade-based production and release schedule. Sequence and prioritize fabrication work based on customer commitments, project milestones, field installation requirements, trade availability, workflow constraints, and material readiness. Continuously adjust schedules to reflect priority changes, engineering and VDC revisions, material shortages, and labor disruptions. Develop and maintain capacity models by trade and identify bottlenecks, overloads, and schedule risk. Recommend mitigation actions including resequencing work, overtime, subcontracting support, or schedule realignment. Act as the single source of truth for manufacturing schedule commitments and capacity visibility. Coordinate closely with team leads, skilled trades, Inventory Planners, Fabrication Planners, Field Teams, VDC, Project Management, Procurement, and Engineering. Participate in production scheduling, project coordination, and field look-ahead meetings. Align fabrication sequencing with model completeness, inventory readiness, fabrication plans, and field installation order.

Additional Responsibilities:

Build and maintain Excel-based planning and capacity modeling tools. Establish and sustain planning cadences aligned with manufacturing execution and field look-ahead cycles. Define and refine planning assumptions using actual production performance. Support continuous improvement related to planning accuracy and schedule stability. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of planning, scheduling, or production control experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills 1. Strong understanding of trade-based manufacturing and fabrication workflows.

2. Advanced Excel skills including labor modeling, scenario analysis, and dashboards.
