Job Description
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable platforms: Develop and manage highly available, scalable, and secure platform solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Manage VMware environments: Design, deploy, and optimize virtualized infrastructure using VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization and high availability.
  • Automate infrastructure: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar to automate the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize performance: Implement monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in real-time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Lead initiatives around platform efficiency, security, cost management, and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices: Ensure platform security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior platform engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies: Continuously evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can enhance platform reliability and performance.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, including infrastructure automation.
  • IaC Expertise: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Containers & Orchestration: Working knowledge with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Strong experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Powershell for automating infrastructure tasks.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI), and best practices for continuous delivery.
