Job Summary:

Set up and operate equipment to manufacturing flex joint components and completed assemblies per work instructions. Inspect product for conformance at each operation per work instructions.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads, understands, and follows Work Instructions, Manufacturing Operation Sheets (MOS), Tech cards and other written instructions in the set-up and operation of various processes to manufacture flex joint components and assemblies.
  • Set-up and operate welding equipment for manufacturing flex joint components and assemblies including Laser Welding. Operating laser welding equipment requires certifications as a welding operator.
  • Set-up and operate CNC lathe for trimming and chamfering of metal.
  • Set-up and operate band saw for cutting metal tubing for flex joints.
  • Set-up and operate metal and tube forming equipment for manufacturing flex joint components and assemblies including draw and ram forming presses, mandrel formers, roll formers, etc.
  • Set-up and operate equipment and hand tools for trimming, sizing, cleaning, and surface preparation of metal.
  • Inspects, maintains, and logs operator maintenance on equipment needed for flex joint manufacturing.
  • Review and Inspect product to acceptance via visual weld inspection and dimensional inspections using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and fixtures.
  • Lean Manufacturing, general housekeeping, work in a teaming environment, 5S.
  • Daily compliance to customer drawings and specifications to maintain aerospace Quality Standards.
  • Complies with internal quality system and regulatory requirements.
  • Acquires and maintains certifications for all necessary welding equipment as applicable.
  • Complies with EHS requirements and procedures while utilizing proper PPE for each operation.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at end of shift.
  • Follows all business policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
  • Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
  • Occasionally lifts 25 - 45lbs.

Requirements

Ability to pass welding equipment and inspection assessment and become certified on required alloy/joint combinations and inspection processes as applicable.

Good attention to detail and eye/hand coordination skills.

Uses mathematical and reading skills.

Interprets specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.

Near vision of Jaeger #2 at 12" and far vision of 20/30 or better in either eye, with or without corrective lenses.

Ability to read/write/speak English.

Legal authorization to work in the US.
