LOGISTICS DRIVER - FLATBED TOW OPERATOR (CLASS C)
Vehicle Recovery & Transportation | Autonomous Vehicle Operations
Location: Los Angeles, CA (90034)
Pay: $34.75 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | Contract

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Driver / Flatbed Tow Operator to support one of the nation's leading autonomous vehicle companies.
This role is responsible for safely recovering, transporting, loading, unloading, and staging autonomous vehicles throughout the Los Angeles area. If you have professional flatbed towing experience, a strong safety mindset, and enjoy working in a fast-paced logistics environment, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
• Safely recover and transport company vehicles using a flatbed tow truck
• Perform roadside vehicle recovery, loading, unloading, and staging operations
• Operate rollback/flatbed towing equipment, including winches, soft straps, tie-downs, wheel securement systems, and vehicle skates
• Transport vehicles with combined gross vehicle weights from 10,001 to 26,000 lbs.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and inspection requirements
• Complete accurate driving logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics coordinators, and field operations teams
• Perform basic vehicle servicing, including refueling, fluid checks, tire pressure inspections, and reporting maintenance needs
• Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition
Qualifications
• Valid Class C Driver's License required
CDL is preferred but not required
• Clean driving record
4-6 years of professional flatbed towing and vehicle recovery experience preferred
• Experience operating rollback or flatbed tow trucks
• Experience with vehicle recovery, winching, loading, unloading, and securement procedures
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
• Valid Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC) required
• Ability to safely work around traffic and roadside recovery environments
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and frequently enter and exit the tow truck throughout the shift
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
