Janitor - Full-Time

Pay:              $19.00 hr.

Schedule:     Days Varied 9:00AM to 5:30PM 

Location:      Independent Living - Sagewood 

Vaccination: FLU Vaccination required

Joining our Housekeeping team, your role will be responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of all carpets and floors within our community in addition to other custodial tasks.

Who you are: 

  • Someone who can understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively. 6 months of hard floor and carpet care preferred but not required. 
  • Someone who has a valid driver's license and clean driving record (this position drives a golf cart) 
  • Has knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals/solvents and demonstrated ability to work safely with them
  • Can learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
  • Work as a team member in a structured working environment.
  • Complete work on time and done right.
    • Can handle multiple tasks and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position; perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV and Hepatitis. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals.
