Are you a motivated individual with a passion for maintaining a safe and secure environment? South Carolina State University (SCSU) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our Department of Public Safety in Orangeburg, SC.
In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in upholding the university's commitment to providing a secure and supportive atmosphere for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As a Law Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, regulations, and university policies while maintaining a visible presence on campus to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Patrolling campus grounds, buildings, and facilities to detect and prevent potential threats or disturbances.
- Responding promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents, assessing situations, and taking appropriate action.
- Conducting thorough investigations, gathering evidence, and preparing detailed reports.
- Collaborating with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary.
