We are seeking a seasoned, active CPA to step into a pivotal leadership role. This position is designed for an experienced professional who wants to lead and mentor rather than just data-enter. You will oversee and review the work of our 5-person team of staff accountants, ensuring absolute accuracy and compliance. To accommodate the right candidate, this position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Review: Serve as a reviewer for tax returns and accounting projects prepared by our team of staff accountants.
Workflow Management: Monitor the firm’s OfficeTools dashboard to track assignment statuses, manage team capacity, and ensure all strict public accounting due dates are met across the team.
Technical Guidance: Analyze complex returns to identify proactive tax-savings strategies and resolve sophisticated compliance issues.
Team Mentorship: Provide ongoing training, technical support, and constructive feedback to junior staff to elevate the team's overall capabilities.
Client & IRS Representation: Utilize the secure OfficeTools Client Portal to exchange sensitive documents, manage e-signatures, and communicate directly with clients and taxing authorities.
Systems & Tech Stack: Our firm operates a streamlined, highly secure, and semi-paperless environment. To ensure a smooth transition, the ideal candidate must possess advanced, daily working knowledge of:
Tax Preparation & Review: Intuit Lacerte Utilize Lacerte diagnostic tools, warning flags, and forms-view analysis to efficiently review Individual, Corporate, and Partnership returns prepared by staff.
Practice Management & Security: OfficeTools for real-time project tracking, time tracking, digital document management, and IRS-compliant e-signatures.
Accounting Software: QuickBooks Online and Desktop for preparing financial statements, reviewing general ledgers, and executing adjusting entries.
Qualifications:
Active CPA license required.
8+ years of public accounting experience, with a proven track record in a review or supervisory capacity.
Expert-level navigation of Lacerte, QBO, and OfficeTools software.
A collaborative, team-oriented leadership style; someone who thrives in a professional, in-office environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly detail-oriented with exceptional project and time-management skills.
