Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tax Preparer with 3โ€“5 years of experience preparing individual and small business tax returns with Intuit Lacerte tax software. The ideal candidate is an experienced, accurate, and efficient tax professional with strong knowledge of federal and state tax rules, proven mastery of Intuit Lacerte, and the ability to handle a broad range of filings with a detail-oriented and proactive approach. Extensive, recent experience with Intuit Lacerte is a core requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

The tax preparer is expected to:

  • Prepare individual tax returns (1040, Schedule A, Schedule C) exclusively using Intuit Lacerte.

  • Prepare small-business returns (LLC, S-corp, C-corp, partnerships) exclusively using Intuit Lacerte.

  • Assist in reviewing client documents and identifying missing information.

  • Proficient in Bookkeeping (Bank and credit card reconciliation, month-end close support, chart-of-accounts maintenance, and preparing financials needed for accurate tax return preparation).

  • Enter and reconcile tax data in Lacerte and QuickBooks.

  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail under deadline-driven conditions.

  • Support other firm processes during peak season as needed.
