About the Video Editor

The Video Editor is responsible for editing recorded podcast episodes into polished, platform-ready video content for digital distribution. This role assembles footage according to approved scripts and show formats, ensuring accurate pacing, clean cuts, visual continuity, and consistent branding across episodes.

Working within established templates and creative guidelines, the Video Editor maintains a consistent look and feel while delivering technically sound videos on deadline. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating within defined formats, values structure, and takes pride in producing clean, accurate edits that align precisely with production standards.

What You’ll DoEditorial Execution
  • Edit episodes according to approved scripts, outlines, and established format templates

  • Maintain strict adherence to show style, pacing, and structural standards

  • Ensure visual continuity and clean timelines throughout the project lifecycle

  • Execute revisions efficiently and accurately while maintaining project integrity

Script & Visual Accuracy
  • Align edits precisely with approved scripts, narration, and production notes

  • Confirm accuracy of lower thirds, graphics, archival footage, and on-screen text

  • Ensure visual elements support and accurately reflect scripted content

  • Cross-check factual elements and maintain internal consistency throughout each episode

Technical Excellence
  • Deliver clean, organized timelines ready for finishing, color, and audio mix

  • Maintain proper track layouts, labeling conventions, and media organization

  • Prepare sequences for final finishing with minimal rework required

  • Follow established network technical specifications, post-production workflows, and file standards

Quality Control
  • Perform detailed internal quality control checks prior to handoff

What You Will Bring to the Table

  • Advanced proficiency in Avid Media Composer

  • Strong understanding of broadcast, streaming, and VOD technical specifications
