Coding Instructor: After School and Camps
About iCode
iCode is a national STEM education franchise that equips students (K–12) with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age. At iCode Austin, we inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence through coding, robotics, digital design, and game development. Our programs emphasize hands-on learning, problem-solving, and teamwork, all in a fun, engaging environment.
Position Overview
As an Instructor at iCode Austin, you’ll guide students through exciting technology-based lessons in coding, robotics, game design, and more. You don’t need to be a professional software engineer. What matters most is your enthusiasm for technology, your ability to teach and connect with kids, and your willingness to learn. Training and curriculum materials are provided.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead classes in subjects such as Scratch, Python, Java, Roblox Studio, HTML/CSS, and robotics.
  • Engage and motivate students through interactive, project-based lessons.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels.
  • Provide feedback, encouragement, and mentorship to help students progress through the iCode belt system.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and energetic classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Assist with special events, camps, and community outreach programs as needed.
Qualifications
  • Passion for technology, education, and working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of programming or STEM concepts.
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience preferred but not required.
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to creating a positive learning environment.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
  • Familiarity with tools like Scratch, Python, Java, Roblox Studio, or Arduino.
  • Experience in classroom management or youth leadership.
  • Creativity, patience, and a sense of humor.
