Job description

ASSYST is seeking a Senior Java Spring Boot Developer to support our client project in Austin, TX.

This is a remote position.

Scope of work:

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Java / Spring Boot Developer to design and develop scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, micro services architecture, and cloud-native technologies, along with the ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members.
  • This position works for section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology โ€“ Statewide Education Data System).
  • Work assignments follow a defined software development life cycle (SDLC) process using an Agile-like approach for completing code changes for defined releases.
  • This role works across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of created reports, in the service of Texas's 1200 school districts.
  • Design and build production Java applications and handle complex system architecture decisions, Documentation, Dev/Unit Testing and Participate in Agile development

Required Experience:

  • Strong experience with Java / J2EE development
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Framework
  • Unit Testing
  • Agile

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of JIRA/Bitubucket
  • Experience with Texas Student Data System (TSDS)
  • Experience in Nomad
