Job description

Are you ready to work for a more active world?
At Bioventus, our business depends on developing our people. We invest in you and challenge you to be the best. We value our colleagues for their different perspectives and individual contributions, and our leaders listen. Our success rests on working together to achieve shared goals and rewards. Join a diverse team of global colleagues driven to help patients resume and enjoy active lives.
The Sr. Financial Analyst will play a critical role within the Gross-to-Net (G2N), Rebate, and Revenue team, with primary responsibility for the end-to-end execution of rebate operations and accounting. This role is initially focused on hands-on ownership of rebate processes-including contract interpretation, invoice validation, accruals, and payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. As the team and processes mature, this role will evolve into a flexible finance resource ("utility player"), supporting broader accounting and finance priorities, including gross-to-net analytics, accruals, financial reporting, and other general accounting functions.
This role is onsite/hybrid 2-3 days per week at our Durham office.
What you'll be doing
  • Rebate Operations & Execution. Support the Rebate Manager with the end-to-end rebate process, including invoice intake, validation, approval, payment tracking, and reporting, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Review and interpret rebate contracts to translate terms into appropriate calculations, accruals, and validation methodologies. Serve as a primary point of contact for rebate-related inquiries, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and disputes efficiently. Monitor the rebate invoice pipeline and payment terms, proactively identifying and escalating risks or gaps, and perform detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis to validate invoices and ensure payment accuracy.
  • Gross-to-Net Accounting. Perform and support month-end close activities related to rebates, including accrual preparation, journal entries, and account reconciliations, while partnering with Accounting to ensure accurate gross-to-net revenue reporting in accordance with US GAAP. Analyze trends in rebates, accruals, and payments to provide meaningful insights that support forecasting and financial decision-making.
  • Internal Controls & SOX Compliance. Ensure rebate processes and accounting entries are well-documented, controlled, and audit-ready in alignment with SOX 404(b). Review key journal entries and reconciliations for completeness and accuracy, maintaining strong internal controls, and support internal and external audits by providing timely documentation and analysis.
  • Process Improvement & Automation. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardize processes, and enhance automation within rebate and gross-to-net workflows. Support data quality initiatives and system enhancements to improve reporting accuracy, scalability, and overall process effectiveness.
  • Financial Analysis & Business Partnership. Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and leadership to assess new and existing rebate programs, identifying financial impacts and risks. Provide variance analysis, reporting, and actionable insights on rebate activity and key gross-to-net drivers, while supporting budgeting and forecasting processes related to rebate expense and gross-to-net assumptions.
  • Broader Accounting & "Utility Player" Evolution. As processes mature, expand responsibilities to support broader, general accounting and finance functions, including compensation accounting, other accruals, and cross-functional financial analysis and reporting. Partner across the accounting organization to provide analytical support and bandwidth for critical initiatives and ad hoc projects.

What you'll bring to the table
  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or related financial industry, preferably in gross-to-net, rebates, or revenue accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP), SOX 404B requirements and financial reporting required
  • Experience interpreting complex contracts and translating into financial calculations
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, PowerQuery)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication (interpersonal/group) skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume work, meet deadlines, and drive results with accuracy
  • #LI-Hybrid
