Arthur, IL - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Arthur, Illinois. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a focus on design, machine operation, and programming. This role is ideal for someone with experience in smaller companies and who is comfortable taking on diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Inventor) and an understanding of mechanical design, machine operations, and manufacturing processes.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using AutoCAD and Inventor (both 2D and 3D).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and refine designs, ensuring that components are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
  • Understand and be involved in machine operations and programming.
  • Assist with the setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of machinery and equipment.
  • Participate in all stages of the manufacturing process, from design to production.
  • Provide support for assembly and testing of products.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.

Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor (2D and 3D design).
  • Some background in manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of machine operations and programming is a plus.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics would be a significant advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a smaller company environment, where you may need to adapt to various roles and responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
