Full Time Inventor information

Why is Gen Z struggling to get jobs?

Full Time Inventors and other job seekers in Gen Z face challenges such as limited work experience, high competition, and evolving skill requirements like proficiency with digital tools and innovation. Building relevant skills, networking, and gaining practical experience can improve employment prospects for this age group.

How much does an Inventor get paid?

The salary of a full-time inventor varies widely depending on experience, industry, and success rate, but typically ranges from $50,000 to $120,000 annually. Many inventors supplement income through licensing deals, royalties, or consulting, and strong technical skills and patent knowledge can influence earning potential.

What is the difference between Full Time Inventor vs Product Developer?

AspectFull Time InventorProduct Developer
CredentialsTypically requires engineering, design, or technical degreesOften holds engineering, design, or related degrees
Work EnvironmentResearch labs, innovation centers, or independent workshopsCorporate offices, manufacturing sites, or design studios
Employer & IndustryStartups, R&D firms, or independent inventorsManufacturers, tech companies, or consumer goods firms
Search & Comparison IntentFocus on innovation, patents, and invention processFocus on product design, development, and market launch

Full Time Inventors primarily focus on creating new inventions and securing patents, often working independently or in R&D settings. Product Developers, on the other hand, work on transforming concepts into market-ready products within corporate environments. While both roles require technical skills and innovation, their daily tasks and goals differ significantly.

What jobs make $1,000,000 per year?

Full Time Inventors can potentially earn over $1,000,000 annually through successful product patents, licensing deals, or royalties, especially if they develop innovative, high-demand inventions. Achieving this level of income typically requires significant expertise, a strong network, and the ability to bring inventions to market or license them to companies.

What jobs make around $100,000 a year?

Full-time inventors can potentially earn around $100,000 annually, especially if they successfully patent and commercialize innovative products. Other high-paying roles include engineers, software developers, and specialized technical professionals, often requiring advanced skills, experience, and sometimes certifications. Income varies based on industry, location, and individual success in product development or technical expertise.

Job description

Mechanical Engineer - Design Engineer, Inventor, 3D

Mechanical Design Engineer (Mid-Senior Level)

  • Position Type:ย ย  Full-time Direct Hire/Perm

  • Location: Memphis, TN (work is ONSITE, sorry, no Hybrid/Remote options)

  • Availability: Immediately open/available now

We are seeking a mid- to senior-level Mechanical Design Engineer to join our design team located in Memphis, TN.

This is a perfect role for a degreed Mechanical Engineer, with at least five (or more!) years of three-dimensional mechanical design experience and is a fit for those looking to work in a collaborative, small-team environment and will effectively interface with customers and cross-functional team leaders to support the design and development of new products, features, and enhancements.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong background in 3D product design, ideally using Autodesk Inventor. Experience with similar CAD tools will be considered, particularly if you demonstrate the ability to adapt to the Inventor toolset.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials, including sheet metal, plastics, and other materials commonly used in product design.
  • Familiarity with designing within space constraints or working with limited routing options for parts, mechanisms, and wiring.
  • Exposure to electrical design concepts is a plus; however, this is primarily a mechanical engineering role. You will collaborate regularly with electrical engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.

Additional Expectations:

  • Seeking those who are comfortable working in a smaller organization where flexibility is essential, and team members wear multiple hats across design and manufacturing functions.
  • Strong communication, documentation and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams and disciplines.
  • This is not a purely drafting-focused role. It requires active engagement with stakeholders across the organization and a willingness to contribute in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

What will the job duties include?

This engineer's work will be focused on developing and improving commercial-grade equipment solutions, working as part of a small engineering team on innovative product designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting real-world customer applications.

Some of the day-to-day duties will include:

  • Design and develop new mechanical systems and enhance existing product lines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Lead and manage engineering projects, including timelines, deliverables, and technical requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, field service, and external partners to resolve technical and regulatory challenges

  • Provide hands-on technical support to customers, contractors, and engineering stakeholders.

  • Create and maintain clear and accurate engineering documentation, including design specifications and field support materials.

As for a breakdown of the desired/ideal fit checklist of what we are seeking in this hire, this is a list of the DESIRED profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer ideally, but another degree in an applicable Engineering or equivalent practical experience is acceptable.

  • ย Seeking those with five or more years of experience in mechanical design and product development, along with a direct proven proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor is our tool of choice, however experience with similar tools can be a fit).

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including sheet metal, plastics, and basic electrical integration, along with any experience with THERMAL SYSTEMS, other HEATING TECHNOLOGIES, are all considered useful, helpful, and a PLUS.

  • Familiarity with thermal systems, water heating technologies, or similar equipment preferred.

Please apply to this role via the direct link, BUT, also be sure to reach out to me via my email at russ.holland@cybercoders.com and let's discuss the fit, your search, this role, all of it as soon as you have a few minutes to spare.
