About the job you're considering
The Web Application Test Lead will drive a Quality Engineering (QE)-first approach, championing shift-left testing and ensuring end-to-end quality ownership across the software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for leading test strategy, planning, execution, and release governance, while proactively managing risks, improving quality metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical depth, and a continuous improvement mindset to deliver high-quality web applications at scale.
Your role
  • Drive adoption of a QE-first mindset, embedding shift-left practices, automation, and quality ownership across development teams
  • Lead test strategy, planning, execution, and release sign-off, ensuring comprehensive functional, integration, and end-to-end coverage
  • Define and manage test scope, priorities, and risk-based testing approaches aligned to business goals and delivery timelines
  • Perform defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking to improve product stability and reduce defect leakage
  • Establish and govern quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting to provide transparency on progress, risks, and release readiness
  • Collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, quality expectations, and outcomes
  • Lead and mentor distributed teams (onshore/offshore), driving execution discipline, best practices adoption, and continuous improvement culture

Your skills and experience
  • 8+ years of experience in software testing / quality engineering, with strong exposure to web application testing
  • Proven expertise in test strategy, planning, execution, and defect management across complex programs
  • Strong experience in QE transformation, shift-left practices, and test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, Playwright)
  • Hands-on knowledge of Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines, with focus on continuous testing integration
  • Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration, including business and engineering teams
  • Ability to define and track quality metrics, KPIs, and risk mitigation strategies for predictable delivery
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with experience managing distributed/global teams

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $68,911 - $161,544.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting.
