Job Description

NYCERS IT Division is seeking a Senior ETL Engineer/Architect to join our IT Data Management unit in the Information Technology division. The Sr. ETL Engineer/Architect will support various enterprise data integration initiatives directly supporting NYCERS' strategic priorities, including ongoing modernization initiatives, strengthened data governance and improved system resiliency. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-wide ETL solutions that enable reliable and scalable data integrations across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data architecture, data migration, data integration, Master Data Management (MDM), and predictive analytics. In this capacity, the Senior ETL Architect/Engineer will:
Key Responsibilities
- Translate intricate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, encompassing data access patterns, data streams, integrations, transformations, and robust data modeling and database design
- Design, Develop and implement ETL Solutions using IBM DataStage and SSIS
- Design and Develop reusable ETL Job templates using IBM DataStage
- Provide End-To-End Automated ETL solutions using DataStage ETL tool
- Create Logical and Physical Data Models using IBM Data Architect
- Provide comprehensive support and input to the NYCERS Data Governance process
- Build Data Extracts from Salesforce using SOQL, DataStage and SSIS
- Develop strategy and build processes to maintain data integrity during/post migration from NYCERS legacy to target LRP system
- Build and maintain Control-M workflows for batch processing, dependency management, and SLA compliance
- Design, develop and support automated data conversion validation process.
- Develop Automated Data Standardization process that compliant with GDPR Rules
- Develop Automated Data Quality Process
- Develop strategies for data acquisitions of vendor's data sources hosted on various platforms
- Fully, clearly and comprehensively document all key work and activities
- Apply hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS to support cloud adoption and modernization initiatives
- Define technology roadmaps and recommend solutions that strengthen IT capabilities and advance digital transformation
- Administer DataStage installations, patching, load balancing, configuration and user management as well as parameter and IMAM repository management
- Establish and uphold NYCERS' Integration architecture methodology, principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure security, reuse and automation
Key deliverables:
- Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions align seamlessly with business objectives
- Work in partnership with vendors to design, develop and implement NYCERS Data Warehouse solution
- DataStage Server Maintenance, Administration, Metadata Management
- Support End-to-End ETL Architecture and Automation
- Integrate various sources into NYCERS Datawarehouse
- Actively participate in development, optimization and performance tuning of ETL and SQL processes
- Transform business rules and data quality rules into ETL and/or SQL solutions
- Develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target Data Models
- Defect handling and problem resolution

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
