WHAT WE'RE DOING
At Lockheed Martin, we are delivering advanced technology and mission-critical solutions that support our customers around the world. We bring together engineering, technology, and technical expertise to develop and maintain complex systems and the documentation needed to operate and support them.
THE WORK
Reporting to the Production Team Manager, you will contribute to the Technical Publications organization by producing high-quality graphics and illustrations for use in technical publications. You will create 2D and 3D technical drawings, turn engineering data into user guides, and perform modifications to technical content, format, and style requirements for technical documentation and illustrations.
You will review authoring and illustration files for completeness, update, validate, and troubleshoot content, and review technical documentation for customer comments, established customer requirements, and incorporation of technical data. You will plan your workload around established schedules and deadlines and use SharePoint for delivery of technical documentation.
You will work directly with peers to make illustration updates for inclusion in technical manuals and meet with engineers and writers to understand project goals. You will also maintain illustration databases, review and complete complex redlines and updates to illustrations-including part breakdowns, schematics, cabling, and block diagrams-and manage and organize high volumes of files.
WHO WE ARE
We are the Technical Publications organization, responsible for developing and maintaining the technical documentation and illustrations that support Lockheed Martin products and systems. Our team works closely with engineers, technical writers, and other technical professionals to turn engineering data into accurate, usable technical publications.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a detail-oriented professional with strong technical illustration and documentation skills. You are comfortable creating and modifying 2D and 3D technical drawings and working with engineering data, technical documentation, redlines, schematics, cabling, and block diagrams.
You are organized and able to manage high volumes of files while balancing multiple assignments, schedules, and deadlines. You can review technical content for completeness and accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and work effectively with engineers, writers, and teammates to understand requirements and deliver high-quality technical publications.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Experience with Acrobat (Standard or Pro).
  • Experience with file management and organizing high volumes of data.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ensure tasks are completed on time without daily monitoring.
  • High attention to detail to ensure factual accuracy in every graphic.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings
  • Strong skill in vector graphics

Desired Skills
  • Experience with IsoDraw
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools
  • Experience validating and reviewing XML or SGML or HTML tagging.
  • Experience with S1000D.
  • Experience with US Navy or other military.
  • Previous experience working to government contract requirements, S0300-A7-AEG-010 and/or Mil-standards.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $55700.00 - $103400.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
