Job Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Performing general plumbing maintenance projects or installations and repairs. 
  • Performs plumbing work such as installing/repairing drains, pipes, valves, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Assembles, installs, layouts, and repairs pipes, fittings, equipment, and fixtures
  • Ability to fabricate offsets, install equipment, and perform basic take offs
  • Tests pipes and fixtures using water and air to detect deficiencies
  • Measures, cuts, threads, glues, solders, brazes, and slopes pipes composed of various materials
  • Installs hangers and supports for all plumbing systems         
  •  Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

Required:

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior plumbing experience or trade school training in plumbing or related field.  
  • Ability to use power and hand tools related to this discipline. 
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and installation.
  • Trained in the use of pipe treading machines, identification of code required piping for domestic, waste and rain water.
  • Ability to solder, braze and/or weld piping related to this discipline
  • Experience in the maintenance of fire pump systems and controls, tamper switches and

flow switches.

  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • • Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or illustrated form.

  •  Must adhere to all company policy and procedures

 

Preferred:

  •  5 years of experience in commercial field plumbing operations; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Extensive knowledge of all plumbing systems installation
  • Plumbing License

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job typically requires work in industrial and commercial petro-chemical plants, refineries, terminals, power houses, mechanical rooms.  Working conditions may be hot or cold and require movement in cramped spaces, climbing, crawling, stooping, and reaching. The work occasionally requires the use of chemicals.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to exert physical force
  • Able to talk and hear and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. 
  • Able to frequently to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to work with and must use PPE such as personal fall protection, safety glasses, goggles, face shields, welding hoods, gloves, hard hats, steel tip shoes and respirators when required by the job or site.
