What our Veterinary Technicians Do

As a Veterinary Technician at Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital, you’ll be an essential member of our clinical team, providing compassionate nursing care and technical support throughout each patient’s visit.

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from patient intake through discharge
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and accurately document vital signs and medical information
  • Practice Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to promote patient comfort and safety
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, and diagnostic sample collection
  • Assist with laboratory procedures and operate IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Educate clients about patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive healthcare
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient medical records
  • Keep treatment areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the day
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture

What You’ll Bring

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred
  • Experienced Veterinary Technician candidates are also encouraged to apply
