Job description

RCN Capital is a nationwide wholesale lender focused on helping real estate investors and independent mortgage brokers finance non-owner-occupied residential investment properties. We support a range of strategies including ground-up construction, fix-and-flip projects, and long-term rental financing through a streamlined process, dedicated teams, and a commitment to exceptional service.
We're seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Appraisal Management Processor to join our internal appraisal desk and support our valuation operations. In this role, you'll coordinate appraisal orders, manage communication between key stakeholders, and help ensure compliance with regulatory and investor requirements. If you thrive in a fast-paced lending environment and enjoy keeping a high-volume pipeline moving with urgency, accuracy, and professionalism this could be a great fit.
As we continue evolving our valuation workflow and leveraging modern appraisal technology, this role will have meaningful ownership and direct impact on the efficiency and quality of our appraisal process.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage and prioritize a high-volume caseload of appraisal orders across multiple branches and loan products
  • Assign appraisal orders to approved AMCs and appraisers through the vendor platform
  • Monitor unassigned orders to ensure timely placement with the correct vendor; negotiate due dates and fees when needed
  • Monitor appraisal pipelines to ensure timely assignment, inspection scheduling, and report delivery
  • Track orders pending payment and follow up to ensure same-day payment and continued movement of the order
  • Manage communication between loan operations, appraisers, and AMCs to ensure compliance and smooth workflow
  • Manage orders on hold by identifying the root cause, resolving issues, and releasing the order whenever possible
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for AMCs, appraisers, loan officers, processors, and underwriters
  • Manage appraisal revisions, reconsideration requests, and escalations as needed
  • Track turn times and follow up proactively to avoid delays in loan closings
  • Maintain detailed documentation in appraisal management systems
  • Ensure all appraisal processes adhere to AIR, USPAP, investor guidelines, and company policies
  • Support internal audit and quality control reviews as required
  • Additional tasks and projects to meet evolving business needs

Requirements:
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in mortgage lending, appraisal processing, or AMC operations
  • Experience handling a high volume of orders from order creation to submission
  • Strong understanding of appraisal workflows, AIR compliance, and valuation terminology
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work professionally with internal and external partners
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency with LOS systems, appraisal portals (preferably Reggora), and general office software
  • Working knowledge of AIR (Appraiser Independence Requirements) and USPAP basics
  • Licensed Residential Appraiser with appraisal management and appraisal review experience strongly preferred

Work Schedule:
  • Full time - 40 hours/week
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00AM to 6:00PM
  • Hybrid Work Model - First 90 days FT in office for training, 2 days/week in office after
  • Potential for remote opportunity

Why This Role:
  • High ownership, high impact: You'll help keep a critical valuation pipeline moving, directly influencing loan cycle times and client experience
  • Modern tools & evolving workflows: With appraisal technology live and processes continuing to evolve, you'll have a real voice in how the work gets done
  • Fast-paced and engaging: If you enjoy juggling priorities, collaborating across teams, and solving problems quickly, this desk is the place to shine

Why RCN Capital:
  • Growth-oriented environment with opportunities to expand your legal skill set
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Casual dress policy
  • Free food and beverage program
  • Competitive benefits, including 401(k)
  • And many additional perks
