About the Role
  • Estimated first-year earning potential: $75,000, based on individual sales performance.
  • Commission-based compensation with uncapped earning potential and a guaranteed minimum in accordance with applicable wage requirements.
  • Training pay of $18.00 per hour for the first 6 weeks.
  • Sell pre-need and at-need funeral services, cemetery property, memorialization products, and related merchandise.
  • Meet with individuals and families to understand their needs and provide consultative guidance on available products and services.
  • Build a sales pipeline through inbound leads, walk-ins, referrals, proactive prospecting, networking, and community outreach.
  • Maintain customer relationships, manage follow-up activity, and track leads and sales through the company CRM.

Your Day to Day
  • Meet with individuals and families to understand their needs and recommend appropriate funeral and cemetery products and services.
  • Sell pre-need and at-need funeral services, cemetery property, memorialization products, and related merchandise.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers through lead generation, outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, and community outreach.
  • Respond to inbound leads, customer inquiries, and walk-in opportunities.
  • Conduct follow-up with prospective customers throughout the sales process.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers, families, and members of the local community.
  • Explain products, services, pricing, and available options in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Guide customers through purchasing decisions and complete required sales contracts and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate lead, customer, appointment, and sales activity within the company CRM.
  • Attend funeral and memorial services as appropriate to support families.
  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and offsite customer appointments.
  • Partner with funeral home, cemetery, operations, and location leadership teams to provide a positive customer experience.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of sales, customer service, business development, or other relationship-based experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a performance-driven, commission-based sales environment and proactively developing new business.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, appointments, and follow-up activities.
  • Proficiency with basic business applications; CRM or lead-management experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive customer information.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle for local appointments and community events. Mileage reimbursement is provided for eligible business travel.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Must obtain and maintain all applicable state-required licenses or registrations within 60 days of employment, or within the timeframe required by applicable state law.
