Description
Summary/Objective
  • The Foreclosure Specialist is responsible for servicing loans from the date of the default through a foreclosure sale, following Agency guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Responsible for pre foreclosure /due diligence review prior to referral to attorney for foreclosure commencement
  • Provide complete foreclosure referrals to attorney
  • Diligent review of loans assigned to foreclosure attorney to assure that milestones are being
  • completed and attorneys are expediting the foreclosure process to be completed within allowable state timelines.
  • Aggressive follow up and high touches, at minimum weekly, to assure files are moving without delays
  • Maintains current foreclosure status in all systems of records being used by BSI
  • Calculates foreclosure bid figures in accordance with agency guidelines
  • Timely response and follow up to all requests from internal and external contacts
  • Review of legal documents/affidavits prepared by counsel for accuracy prior to execution
  • Clearing out and working queues assigned daily
  • Responsible for meeting legal requirements and following internal policies.

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to sit for long periods of time is essential.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time job in office position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.

Education and Experience:
  • Proficient with PC and related software such as Excel and Word
  • 2+ years of related experience in the foreclosure industry
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for foreclosure processing to ensure that BSI always complies
  • Knowledge of handling foreclosures from date of default through foreclosure sale
  • Knowledge of HUD First Legal Deadline calculation and extension process
