  • Collect, sort, and remove waste, recyclables, and organics; stage totes and compactors for pickup; document volumes as required.
  • Maintain exterior grounds (entryways, loading docks, walkways, parking areas), including sweeping, debris removal, light landscaping, and snow/ice melt application where applicable.
  • Replenish consumables (soap, towels, sanitizer, PPE) and maintain janitorial closets in audit-ready condition.

Production & Sanitation Support
  • Stage, move, and return sanitation carts, hoses, squeegees, and chemicals; mix ready-to-use solutions per SOPs and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Support pre- and post-production cleanup (e.g., spill response, floor drying, drain covers, waste segregation).
  • Assist with changeover housekeeping and allergen control cleaning as directed by Sanitation/Quality.
  • Perform daily GMP walk-throughs; correct or escalate housekeeping and safety hazards immediately. Report all findings to the Chief Operations Officer and the Quality Control Manager.

Material Handling & Logistics
  • Safely move supplies (pallets of paper goods, liners, drums, empty totes) using pallet jack and, if certified, forklift.
  • Receive and store janitorial/PPE/chemical supplies; rotate inventory (FIFO), track usage, and report low stock.
  • Set up floor protection, barriers, and signage during maintenance or contractor work.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation
  • Follow LOTO boundaries, chemical handling, confined space awareness, and PPE requirements at all times.
  • Complete cleaning logs, chemical use records, and checklist verifications accurately and on time.
  • Support internal and third-party audits (SQF, customer, regulatory) by maintaining audit-ready zones.
  • Participate in incident reporting, near-miss reporting, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Required
  • 1+ year experience in janitorial, custodial, facility porter, or sanitation role (manufacturing, food/beverage, warehouse, or hospitality).
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, basic chemical safety, dilution control, and SDS use.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, schedules, and checklists, English communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance: flexibility to work off-shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs routinely and 75 lbs occasionally; stand/walk for extended periods.

Preferred
