Job Title: Commercial Tire Technician

Reports to: Store Manager (or similar position)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: Mounting and dismounting tires, flat repairs, and vehicle inspections.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform tire work (primarily commercial). Mount and dismount, air pressure checks, balancing, tire rotation and flat repairs. Ensures lug nuts are tightened to the proper torque specifications.
  • Including proper receiving of product into location prior to putting away.
    • Review procedure, Quick Guide Parts Ordering on Treadnet
  • Ability to look up fluid volumes for tire size.
  • Assist with opening and closing of store, including EOD.
  • End of shift duties completed (cleaning, finishing work, manager approval).
  • Ensures that customer satisfaction and communication is of the utmost importance.
  • Facility maintenance and clean-up including but not limited to:
    • Sweeping, empty garbage cans; assist in organization of all tire and lube shop related supplies.
    • Parking lot cleaned of debit and/or garbage.
    • Warehouse Organization to include ensuring like tires are together, inventory is faced, rows are clean and tidy and help ensure the area stays safe for operating.
  • Shuttle and/or customer courtesy driver.
  • Assist with phone and counter duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, to include but not limited to retail tire work, lube bay, VIR reports and alignment checks.

QUALIFICATIONS – Required

  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years
  • Experience in a vehicle maintenance shop (preferred).
  • High school diploma equivalent (preferred).

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity

Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
    • Occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments
    • Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment, moving objects, and roadside work

  • Computer and keyboard
  • Tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools
  • Company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory
  • Required to use protective gear (PPE)
