Main Purpose

To perform job functions required and/or assigned in the fabrication of iron as steel structures in accordance with the contract/job specifications and quality assurance requirements/fitting procedures and established ISO/QC program standards.


Essential Functions

· Follow instructions, written and/or verbal, with little or no supervision.

· Read and interpret blueprint and specification schedules.

· Perform mathematical calculations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles etc.

· Measure, cut, fit and/or install iron and steel braces, beams, plate, pipe, etc., in accordance to blue print and job specifications schedules.

· Follow fitting procedures and principles used in the fabrication of offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, etc.

· Perform other related job duties as assigned in safe and efficient manner; also, see physical requirements.

· Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements
Standing- Is an essential job function/physical requirement.

Walking- Is an essential job function/physical requirement.

Turning, twisting, bending and stooping- These physical requirements are essential job functions.

Pushing and Pulling- These physical requirements are essential job functions.

Reaching, forward and reaching overhead- These are essential job functions /physical requirements.

Lifting - ability to lift 25-50 lbs, and up to 75 lbs on occasion.


Job Requirements

· Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience and be able to successfully demonstrate the ability to pass a written and practical pipe fitter test.

· Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

· Must be able to pass background check.

· Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

Desirable Experience/Training

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent


Tools and Equipment Used

Fitters must have knowledge of and used cutting torches, measuring tapes, calculators, levels, man-lifts and/or high reach equipment, welding machines, chipping hammers, pressure chippers, power grinders, etc. Must be able to read and write.


Environmental Conditions

80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions; dust mud etc., Fitters may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, and/or gas etc.)
