Job Summary:

The Loss Prevention Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned territory. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the company, including but not limited to identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing safety processes and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Work as an undercover agent to prevent theft

  • Detect and observe potential shoplifters

  • Conduct apprehensions and recoveries as described in post orders

  • Document incidents, report emergencies and contact appropriate authorities

  • Utilize smartphone or tablet to maintain daily electronic reports

  • Work closely with local law enforcement and provide detailed statements on theft cases

  • Must possess a valid Guard Card

  • Must have reliable method for transportation

  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills

  • CCTV and knowledge of 6-step process of loss prevention

  • Must have knowledge of theft prevention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation methods

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Must be able to operate and maintain site specific security programs

  • Must be punctual

  • Previous loss prevention experience is preferred

This position requires standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, bending, and lifting. A portion of some positions may require sitting in front of a computer or monitor for periods of time.
