Viking LLC, A DEMA Company, has an excellent opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our Production Team located in Nesquehoning, PA. Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities including loading and unloading delivery vehicles
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report to the supervisor
  • Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes
  • Address and resolve shipment issues and discrepancies
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders
  • Route materials to departments
  • Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials
  • Pack goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels, and ship packages
  • Ensure all documentation, such as packing lists and shipping labels, is complete and accurate
  • Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery of goods
  • Perform regular stock checks and report any discrepancies
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies
  • Apply reasoning skills to solve problems as they arise.

Key Position Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Shipping and Receiving Associate or similar role
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Experience with forklift operation and pallet jacks
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and MRP/ERP software preferred
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team-focused environment
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects
  • Consistent good attendance is required
