Job description

DEMA Engineering Co. is hiring a Regional Sales Manager to own and grow our Upper Midwest Territory, selling industry-leading chemical dispensing and fluid control solutions. This is a remote, field-based role, ideal for a self-driven sales professional who thrives building long-term customer partnerships, brings technical credibility to every conversation, and is energized by the challenge of developing new business. If you're looking for a role where your results are visible, your territory is truly yours, and the company behind you has been engineering innovative solutions since 1956 - this is worth your attention.
About DEMA Engineering Company
DEMA Engineering is the global leader in chemical dispensing and fluid control solutions - and has been since 1956. Founded as a family business and still family-owned today, DEMA has grown to a global enterprise with 420+ team members across five U.S. manufacturing facilities (Missouri, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina) and additional operations in the Netherlands and Australia.
Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, DEMA serves industrial, institutional, food service, laundry, agricultural, car wash, OEM, and commercial markets worldwide. DEMA is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, reflecting an enduring commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.
When you join DEMA, you're joining a four-generation family business where quality and craftsmanship are still personal. DEMA's philosophy, rooted in founder Hermann Deutsch's belief in "the relentless pursuit of excellence," shapes how the team works, builds products, and serves customers.
What Makes This Role Unique at DEMA
Most sales roles ask you to move product. This one asks you to solve problems. DEMA's product line spans chemical dispensing systems, fluid control devices, solenoid valves, pumps, injectors, and more. You'll become a genuine technical resource for your customers, backed by an engineering and manufacturing team that has been building solutions for nearly 70 years. At DEMA, the sales team is taken seriously, supported fully, and recognized for the critical role they play in our continued global growth.
The Opportunity
As Regional Sales Manager, you will be the face of DEMA across the Upper Midwest, responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding the customer base, and deepening relationships across industrial, institutional, food service, commercial, and related markets. You'll combine consultative selling with hands-on technical knowledge to help customers solve real operational challenges using DEMA solutions. This role is central to DEMA's continued growth and directly contributes to the company's long-term market leadership.
What You'll Do
Territory Sales & Business Development
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, lead qualification, networking, referrals, and trade show participation
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across assigned markets and geographies
  • Grow existing customer accounts by expanding product utilization, cross-selling, and identifying upsell opportunities
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends, and bring actionable intelligence back to leadership

Customer & Account Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned accounts
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers to support long-term growth
  • Conduct regular account reviews to assess satisfaction and identify future opportunities
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns related to products, pricing, delivery, or service
  • Prepare and deliver territory reports, forecasts, and business updates

Technical & Product Support
  • Provide consultative product recommendations based on customer application requirements and operational needs
  • Deliver product training, technical demonstrations, and application support through field visits, virtual meetings, and presentations
  • Communicate customer feedback and product enhancement opportunities to internal teams to support continuous improvement

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful outside sales, territory management, or technical sales experience
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and growing a territory
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to identify customer needs and develop value-based solutions
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand, communicate, and demonstrate product features and applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% or more, including overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant sales experience
  • Experience in industrial, institutional, food service, OEM, warewash, laundry, or related chemical markets
  • Experience using CRM software for pipeline and account management
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Familiarity with chemical dispensing systems, fluid control products, or similar technical product lines

What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6-12 months, a successful Regional Sales Manager will:
  • Complete a thorough territory assessment and establish a prioritized account and business development plan
  • Build trusted relationships with key existing accounts while actively building a new business pipeline
  • Achieve or demonstrate clear progress toward assigned territory revenue and growth objectives
  • Operate independently - managing CRM records, customer activity, and territory resources with minimal oversight
  • Become a credible technical resource for customers and a recognized contributor to DEMA's continued market growth

You'll Likely Enjoy This Role If...
  • You prefer ownership over micromanagement - this is a field-based, self-directed role with real responsibility for your territory outcomes
  • You enjoy technical products and take real satisfaction in helping customers solve operational problems
  • You're relationship-oriented and build trust steadily over time, not just at the point of sale
  • You're comfortable with frequent travel and the rhythm of a field sales lifestyle
  • You value working for a company with genuine heritage, stable ownership, and a team that takes pride in what it builds

Benefits Include:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Contribution
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Wellness Programs
  • And more

Ready to Build Something That Lasts?
DEMA has been earning customer trust - and employee loyalty - since 1956. If you're a driven sales professional who values craftsmanship, technical depth, and a company that stands behind its products and its people, we'd like to hear from you. Apply today.
