Job Summary:
Buyers are responsible for procurement of goods, quality compliance and inventory management.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages supply chain risks
  • Builds long-term, collaborative relationships with preferred suppliers
  • Procures customized items
  • Evaluates supplier quotes and services
  • Evaluates supplier performance
  • Identifies qualified vendors for difficult to source items
  • Evaluates cost savings opportunities and present findings
  • Evaluates forecasts to maintain desired inventory levels
  • Prepares, issues, and maintains purchase orders for timely delivery
  • Execute inventory replenishment requests
  • Maintain factory shortage report
  • Assists in the investigation of non-conforming materials and takes corrective action
  • Assists in the reconciliation of receiving/invoicing/billing discrepancies
  • Coordinates the return of non-conforming material
  • Maintains procurement records, including ERP data and notations
  • Other purchasing duties as assigned

Requirements
Skills:
  • Knowledge of purchasing concepts, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of purchasing system software and inventory management systems
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, budgets and contract language
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret various reports
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing; technical writing a plus
  • Ability to work professionally in team environment and with other departmental teams
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and oversight
  • High ethical standards
  • High attention to detail

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in an MRP environment, electronics or technical industry a plus
  • Experience in motion control industrial purchasing preferred
  • Purchasing agent certification is a plus

Job Detail:
  • Full-time, salary-exempt positions with full benefits

  • Day Shift - Monday through Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM

Essential Functions:
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Use of upper body, arms, and hands throughout the day
  • Lifting 5-10 pounds periodically
