8482 ISS Clinical InformaticsFacilitates and provides support of clinical informatics processes through the effective use of available technologies; ensures that technology is implemented in a manner that supports the practice, optimizes workflow and provides decision support; ensures all related systems and work flows are properly integrated into the work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification
Required: Licensure in clinical discipline such as nursing, clinical informatics field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: ANCC or CPHIMS certification


Education
Preferred: Bachelor's degree


Experience

Required: Three years experience in a healthcare field. Experience supporting clinical operations in an electronic healthcare environment or may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Preferred:Cerner experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of clinical protocols, hardware documentation and systems applications.
Basic knowledge of principles of software design and modification, basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite and SharePoint.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Under minimal supervision, leads planning, design and implementation teams for applications to ensure that application design and build meets the needs of the staff for appropriate data capture and workflow process and help ensure adoption.
Maintains and optimizes clinical content and decision support functions through all phases of the systems development life cycle, in both the hospital and ambulatory clinical information systems.
Maintains current knowledge of legal and regulatory standards and standards of practice to ensure that the clinical systems support compliance with these standards.
Maintains current knowledge of clinical practices to promote an evidence-based practice model for clinical systems throughout the organization; assisting the assigned application analyst and other clinical systems staff in build and maintenance as indicated; has/acquires and maintains a working knowledge of the clinical environment, workflow, job responsibilities and processes in assigned areas.
Responsible for drafting, updating, and revising written recommendations for changes in policies and procedures for applicable clinical applications.
Participates in the development of training and training materials by: collaborating with clinical education and clinical users; integrating workflow into the training of all system users; providing training.
Effectively communicates by: interpreting and conveying information clearly, accurately and in a timely manner; establishing and maintaining open, effective communications between all teams of caregivers, vendors, etc.; utilizing correct channels of communication and recognized organization communication standard; keeping abreast of and complying with departmental and organizational changes and events through reading posted communications and attending assigned meetings.
Ability to work non-standard and extended hours during project implementations.
Ability to be on-call for education and workflow related questions.
Additional
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
