Description
Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Kalispell Montana is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer with a PE License to join our dynamic team.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, and vendors to bring exceptional designs to life. From office buildings and schools to multifamily residences, hotels, restaurants, banks, and retail spaces, you'll engage in a wide range of impactful projects.
Site visits and client meetings may require occasional travel, ensuring seamless project execution and strong relationships. If you're ready to contribute your expertise to a collaborative, innovative environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
  • Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
  • Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
  • Ensure structural designs meet company Quality standards.
  • Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads.
  • Respond to contractors during the construction.

Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of experience post-graduation from an accredited University.
  • Structural Professional Engineer (PE) License. (SE designation a plus, but not required)
  • Relevant design experience with building structural systems using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • A strong understanding of building codes and value engineering practices.
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team.
  • Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and industry standard structural design software. (Preferably - Enercalc, RISA, Simpson, or Woodworks)
