Job description

Talon/LPE is a leading environmental consulting and remediation firm with over 25 years of experience serving clients across diverse industries. As a Staff Geologist, you will join a collaborative team of environmental professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions and upholding the company’s core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence. Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and oversight of drilling and subsurface investigation projects.
  • Collect, analyze, and ensure quality control of geologic and environmental data in the field.
  • Prepare groundwater contour maps, potentiometric surface maps, and other site figures using GIS and related software.
  • Conduct sampling of soil, groundwater, vapor, and surface water.
  • Oversee subcontractors, install and plug monitoring wells, and respond to environmental incidents as needed.
  • Prepare technical reports, field documentation, and data summaries to support environmental investigations and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project team members.
  • Travel to project sites, including remote locations, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology (required).
  • 0–2 years of relevant field experience in environmental consulting or related work.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and ArcGIS or similar GIS software.
  • Understanding of environmental investigation techniques.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors year-round.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, work ethic, curiosity, and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including overnight stays and work at remote project locations.
