Responsibilities

The Hematology Research Biobank is seeking a Research Technologist to join our team. Our group is responsible for processing blood and bone marrow specimens for multiple clinical trials and general biobanking protocols, and is expanding into extraction services. The preferred candidate will have strong attention to detail and be able to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes mainly blood and bone marrow samples from generous study participants in a sterile environment according to established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Properly prepares derivatives for immediate distribution and appropriate long term storage
  • Meticulously collects and enters data for each submission into tracking database
  • Communicates consistently with the team to assess the changing priorities as samples arrive for processing
  • May pull samples from long term storage upon the request of Investigators
  • May perform some assignments independently based on the needs of the lab

Qualifications

Requires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.
