Join Our Team as Head Girls Basketball Coach / Program Director!

Are you a servant-leader passionate about shaping young athletes into well-rounded individuals both on and off the diamond? Do you have a strong background in competitive basketball and a desire to mentor student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically? If so, Westbury Christian School is looking for a dedicated leader like you to head our Varsity Boys Basketball Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: Plan, organize, and implement instruction in basketball fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and biblical principles.
  • Spiritual & Character Development: Mentor student-athletes to represent Christ through their actions, cultivating character, servant leadership, and sportsmanship on and off the field.
  • Compliance & Operations: Ensure full compliance with all TAPPS rules and school policies; assist the Athletic Director with scheduling, roster eligibility, budgeting, and securing officials.
  • Staff Mentorship: Assist in the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of assistant basketball coaches, fostering a unified coaching culture rooted in Christian values.
  • Community Engagement: Maintain clear, respectful, and consistent communication with players, parents, faculty, and the broader school community.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; required for future full-time teaching opportunities
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of varsity-level coaching experience with a strong understanding of TAPPS regulations and high school athletic development.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions, meet physical demands of coaching (including lifting up to 40 lbs.), and work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, and travel).
  • Mission Alignment: A visible commitment to Christian education, a personal relationship with Christ, and full affirmation of the school's Statement of Faith.
