Position: Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
North Greenville University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. Acceptable candidates must be enthusiastic, possess a strong work ethic, a valid driver's license, functional computer skills, and experience in playing and/or coaching basketball at the college level.
North Greenville University is a NCAA Division II institution and a member of Conference Carolinas.
Description
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach is directly responsible to the Head Coach in all matters related to the operation of this program.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will have responsibilities that are defined by institutional and NCAA rules and guidelines.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Organizing team travel arrangements, holiday housing and meals for student athletes.
  • Assisting with on/off-campus recruiting within NCAA guidelines for prospective student athletes.
  • Film exchange per Conference Carolinas and NABC guidelines.
  • Assisting in supervision of team and academic progress.
  • Day-to-day office management and working with other coaches and athletic administrators.

Organizational Relationships
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and will respond to the Director of Athletics as needed.
As an employee of the North Greenville University Athletics Department, the individual will be actively involved in relationships within the campus, Upstate and Alumni community.
Physical Requirements
• Mobility ability to demonstrate basic football skills, instruct a basketball practice, move for 2 hours during practice sessions, lift basketball equipment or other items of 50 pounds.
• Hearing well enough to communicate with students and co-workers.
• Visual ability to drive, read and use a computer.
• Communication with students well enough to dictate instructions.
• Cognitive/Emotional - ability to critically think and concentrate.
Working Relationships
• The position is a full-time position in Athletics. The Assistant Men's Basketball coach reports directly to the Head Men's Basketball coach.
Work Schedule
• Coaches are required to work according to team schedules for practice, games, travel, and maintain normal office hours.
Travel
• Travel is required for games, recruiting and attending required conference meetings.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
