Job description

The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking applicants for the position of:
High School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach

 
Length of contract:  2026-2027 High School Basketball Season
Deadline for applications:  open until filled
The successful candidate will




  • Present and maintain a high level of professionalism as an educational leader and assistant coach while demonstrating an exemplary level of integrity within the program.
  • Have 7th-12th basketball coaching experience.
  • Be proficient in methods of instruction involving basketball skills
  • Be an educator within the Pleasant Hill School District - preferred
  • Meet MSHSAA Assistant Coaching Requirements according to the guidelines presented in the MSHSAA handbook (sec 3.1)
  • Be certified as a substitute teacher and must have completed 60 credit hours from an accredited institution.
  • The successful candidate will fulfill the duties as follows...

 
Duties:

  • Coaching 9th-12th basketball as assigned by the program head coach
  • Assist in program events and practices (items include scoring games, running tournaments, etc.)
  • Assist in planning, organizing and operating efficient practices
  • Assist with the preparation of HS basketball events (home & away)
  • Attend and assist off-season workouts, camps and activities as deemed necessary by the program head coach
  • Be able to effectively communicate with students/athletes regarding their progress, performance and critical needs to improve
  • Be able to effectively communicate with parents
