Position Overview
We are seeking a responsible groundskeeper for maintaining the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of the exterior grounds of residential or commercial properties. This role helps create an attractive, welcoming environment for residents, tenants, visitors, and employees by ensuring that landscaping, common areas, and outdoor amenities are well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
  • Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
  • Weed flower beds, shrubs, and landscaped islands.
  • Plant flowers, shrubs, mulch, and seasonal landscaping as directed.
  • Water landscaping as needed.
  • Prune bushes, hedges, and small trees.
  • Remove leaves, branches, and other debris from the property.
  • Pick up trash throughout the community daily.
  • Empty and maintain trash receptacles.
  • Clean breezeways, sidewalks, parking lots, curbs, and common areas.
  • Remove cobwebs from buildings, entrances, and common areas.
  • Pressure wash sidewalks, buildings, and other surfaces as scheduled.
  • Maintain pool and amenity areas by keeping them clean and organized (where applicable).

Position Summary
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and curb appeal of assigned apartment communities. This position plays a critical role in creating a welcoming environment for residents, prospects, and visitors by ensuring the property's exterior grounds, common areas, and amenities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment including:
    • Lawn mowers
    • Weed trimmers
    • Leaf blowers
    • Hedge trimmers
    • Pressure washers
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping and exterior property maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
