We are seeking a skilled Door Systems & Access Control Specialist to support a large and growing advanced manufacturing and commercial campus exceeding 1.2 million square feet. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical, electrical troubleshooting, and controls experience who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and supporting critical facility operations.

This role is heavily focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial door systems and access control hardware across office, manufacturing, warehouse, utility, and cleanroom environments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong maintenance mindset and experience working with door systems, controls, security hardware, or related mechanical systems.

What Youll Be Working On

You will support and maintain a wide variety of commercial and industrial door systems including:

  • High-speed roll-up doors
  • Rolling steel fire doors
  • Commercial storefront doors

  • Interlocking cleanroom man doors
  • Dock levelers and dock locks
  • Sliding security gates
  • Airwalls and partition doors
  • Low-energy automatic doors
  • Access control systems including mag locks, electric strikes, card readers, and proximity devices

This role focuses far more on maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs than installation work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair door systems, operators, controls, hardware, and access control devices
  • Perform mechanical inspections, preventive maintenance, and operational testing on commercial door systems
  • Work alongside vendors when programming adjustments or controls modifications are needed
  • Maintain door pressurization and interlock systems within cleanroom/manufacturing environments
  • Support repairs involving locks, closers, controllers, sensors, and access hardware
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control-related issues tied to automated door systems
  • Complete PMs according to schedules and SOPs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work orders
  • Support general facility maintenance tasks including:
    • Minor plumbing repairs
    • Lighting maintenance
    • Painting and patching
    • Furniture and equipment moves
    • General handyman work
  • Monitor contractor work and maintain strong safety and compliance standards
What Were Looking For

  • Experience with commercial door systems, access controls, locksmith work, security systems, or related maintenance fields
  • Familiarity with brands such as Stanley, Dormakaba, Tormax, Schlage, ASI, Chase, or similar manufacturers
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems and work with programming/vendor support when needed
  • Experience in commercial, manufacturing, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments is highly preferred
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable walking large facilities and working on your feet throughout the day
Preferred Experience
  • AAADM certification is highly preferred
  • Experience with automatic doors and low-energy operators
  • Security gate installation or access control maintenance background
  • Knowledge of GMP or cGMP environments
  • Preventive maintenance experience in manufacturing or technical facilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Gmail, Google Docs, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must pass full drug screening and background process

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a technician who wants to grow within a highly technical facility environment while working on specialized mechanical and access control systems across a large-scale campus.
