We're looking for a skilled WordPress Engineer (Contract / Freelance) to collaborate with our team on a range of custom WordPress projects. We're seeking curious, proactive developers who care deeply about accessibility, performance, scalability, and crafting exceptional user experiences.

This role isn't suited for page builder work like Elementor; it's designed for developers experienced with modern PHP, Gitโ€based workflows, and building custom themes and plugins, approaching WordPress as a complete engineering platform. This opportunity is open to independent contractors interested in perโ€project or ongoing freelance work. You'll work closely with our engineering, design, and project management teams to bring digital experiences to life for clients across industries.

Responsibilities Build responsive, accessible, and highโ€quality WordPress websites using modern tooling and workflows. Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and longโ€term sustainability. Collaborate with senior engineers and team leads on feature implementation, validation, and code reviews.

Communicate clearly with project managers and team leads, keeping progress visible and transparent. Track your time accurately and meet project milestones and delivery timelines. Be available during agreedโ€upon business hours (UTC/GMT โ€“5 hours, Dallas, TX, USA) for team collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience 2+ years of professional experience as a WordPress Engineer or similar role. Strong experience with WordPress development, especially the WordPress Block Editor and Full Site Editing. Familiarity with build tools like Gulp, Webpack, or similar.

Understanding of performance optimization, WordPress Multisite, and scalable theme architecture. Experience with Git (BitBucket/GitHub/GitLab) workflows and branching strategies. Comfortable collaborating with designers, project managers, and developers across disciplines.
