Job description

Junior Full Stack Developer, React & NestJS

Available for the following offices:Houston, On-site

WebCreek is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to help build and support modern enterprise applications using React and NestJS. This role is ideal for a Junior developer who can work across both front end and backend development, with a stronger focus on backend architecture, data processing, application security, and production reliability.

You will work with technologies including React, NestJS, MongoDB, Redis, OIDC-based security, queueing systems, and deployment/containerization tools to build scalable applications that support complex business and operational needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using React and NestJS.
  • Build backend services, APIs, and application logic that support data processing and computing workloads.
  • Work with MongoDB, Redis, OIDC-based security, and queueing systems as part of the application architecture.
  • Participate in technical discussions and help define practical solutions with the development team.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support applications across frontend, backend, database, and deployment layers.
  • Take ownership of assigned features and issues from development through production support.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, developers, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into reliable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to system quality, performance, scalability, maintainability, and operational reliability.

What You Bring:

  • 1-3 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience building full stack applications with React and NestJS
  • Strong backend development skills, especially with APIs, services, data processing, and computing workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization concepts, including OpenID Connect (OIDC) or similar protocols.
  • Experience with queueing systems, asynchronous processing, or event-driven backend workflows.
  • Experience deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting applications in production environments.
  • Ability to take ownership, propose solutions, and follow through without needing constant direction.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in technical and architectural discussions.
  • Proactive mindset with willingness to learn, adapt, and jump in when issues arise.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, or other deployment/containerization tools.
  • Experience supporting data-intensive or backend-heavy enterprise applications.
  • Experience improving application performance, scalability, reliability, or maintainability.
  • Experience working in Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial, or enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in production.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Full-time position in a quickly growing company.
  • Competitive salary with regular reviews.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan and comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • In-house IT training and certifications through WebCreek University.
  • Flexible work environment within a diverse, international team.
  • Wellness programs and exclusive “workcation” opportunities for top performers.

Location: On-site in Houston, TX. (Relocation candidates are encouraged to apply)

Candidates outside of Houston may complete part of the interview process remotely, but at least one interview may be conducted in person.
