Job description

Job Summary

Reporting to the General Manager; the Fuel Accounting Supervisor will work directly with the Into-Plane Fueling management team at ORD Airport and will lead the Fuel Accounting/Administrators group. In this role, the Fuel Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for efficiently and accurately completing all Fuel Inventory and Accounting tasks, including but not limited to fuel inventory management and month-end close. It is imperative for the Accounting Manager to have strong computer skills, problem solving, and exceptional leadership skills to succeed in this role.


The expected pay rate is $30-$34/hr. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.  

Your activities

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations and the financial systems.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and journal reclassification when needed.
  • Lead daily meetings between fuel accounting department and management team.
  • Find missing gallons by month end and close the month with zero unallocated gallons.
  • Prepare accrual journal 
  • Assist in special projects and/or other areas assigned by management.
  • Submit all financial information and reports as required by the Controller, General Manager, Auditors, Airline Members within the agreed time frame and format.
  • Ensure that administrative and control procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Maintain and oversee daily Fuel Accounting according to established A4A Spec 123 Procedures for Accounting of Jet Fuel Inventory.
  • Lead a team of 5 fuel accounting admin clerks.
  • Interface with airlines management personnel to implement and/or clarify fuel inventory requirements.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly Fuel Inventory Reports and distribute them to Fuel Facility Managers and consortium members.
  • Perform periodic audits to assure accuracy of fuel accounting procedures.
  • Make recommendations regarding report format, processes, and procedures.
