Job Summary:

As the VP, Integrated Delivery Solutions – Long Haul, you will ultimately be responsible for leading operational delivery, program execution, and financial performance for long-haul and FTTX engineering and construction projects. You will oversee operational, program, and project management teams while delivering safe, high-quality, and profitable project execution across multiple client programs. As the VP, Integrated Delivery Solutions – Long Haul, your customers are telecommunications clients, executive leadership, project teams, and internal business partners, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through operational excellence, strategic leadership, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Lead operational, program, and project management teams responsible for engineering, permitting, construction, maintenance, and turnkey FTTX delivery projects
  • Own profit and loss (P&L) performance across assigned programs and maximize overall program profitability
  • Plan, organize, and monitor departmental objectives while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to monitor project performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure contract compliance and timely execution of change orders for out-of-scope work
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risks, and resource allocation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including as-built documentation, restoration, permitting, retainage, cost recovery, and contract completion
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with clients and conduct regular project review meetings
  • Review production, budgets, project quality, financial performance, and forecasting to maximize operational efficiency and profitability
  • Develop internal self-perform capabilities and workforce development strategies
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop strategic growth initiatives and business expansion opportunities
  • Support business development activities, competitive bids, and contract negotiations for turnkey FTTX projects
  • Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and evaluate management staff while fostering employee engagement and high performance
  • Oversee project scheduling, financial reporting, quality assurance, OSHA compliance, and construction status reporting
  • Participate in vendor selection, negotiations, estimating, network design oversight, and process improvement initiatives
  • Manage fiber relocation, restoration, reroutes, repairs, and ongoing operational support activities
  • Ensure accurate project tracking, reporting metrics, and alignment with company goals and core values
  • Promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, operational excellence, and client satisfaction
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Must be able to pass a DOT background screening

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, construction, and project management with demonstrated operational leadership
  • 5+ years of experience in an operations management role
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience
  • Proven success leading large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects from award through completion
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $25 million to more than $250 million in annual revenue
  • Demonstrated experience leading FTTX engineering and construction operations
  • Strong background in competitive bidding, client engagement, forecasting, budgeting, staffing, and operational growth
  • Experience developing and expanding business units while driving profitability and client satisfaction

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong executive leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to analyze financial, production, forecasting, and operational performance data
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
  • Strong conflict resolution, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience using project management software and business reporting systems
  • Ability to travel as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of telecommunications construction experience
  • Experience with SiteTracker
  • Advanced experience developing forecasting models and operating budgets
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience supporting long-haul fiber network construction and turnkey delivery programs

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as business needs require
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during field visits
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when required
  • Ability to visit and safely navigate active construction sites
