Job description

Position: QA Laboratory Technician

Summary: The QA Laboratory Technician supports the manufacturing process by performing laboratory analysis of materials and blends for use in finished products and finished product analysis before final release to the customer. This role is instrumental in keeping the production lines running and meeting quality standards.

Hours: This position will support 3rd shift. Hours are Sunday-Thursday 10:00pm-7:00am.

Pay: This is an hourly position with pay starting around $25.00 per hour with $2:00 per hour shift premium.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follows standard operating procedures and other controlled documents as outline by the IKI Quality Manual
  • Analyze incoming chemicals and incoming materials
  • Analyze blends in-process and finished products
  • Enter data into computer
  • Analyze line and tank flushes
  • Calibrate instruments
  • Coordinate testing to ensure timely flow of production
  • Prepare lab samples
  • Obtain re-samples when necessary
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and correlate data

Education and Experience

  • Laboratory experience with HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, and other wet chemistry techniques required
  • Experience implementing customer test methods for GC and FTIR preferred

Work Environment: Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals. Proper PPE must be worn, and safety precautions must be followed.

Physical Demands: Stands 75%, sits 25%, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
