Job Profile Summary:

FSY Teachers prepare and deliver lessons at FSY sessions, ensuring that all involved leave better than they came. We seek individuals with strong faith in Jesus Christ and in His Restored Gospel to serve as role models of divine sisterhood and honorable priesthood holders, future missionaries, mothers, fathers, and leaders in the Lord's Church and kingdom.

Job Description:
  • Payment for FSY Teachers is $200 for a two-day contract.

  • Prepare and deliver lessons that not only engage and interest the participants but help inspire and motivate them.

  • Help all youth have a positive and uplifting experience and, as needed, handle youth disciplinary situations with sensitivity.

  • Understand, follow, and (where applicable) enforce FSY policies addressing general conduct, youth protection, sexual misconduct, and standards of communication.

  • Read and study the FSY Staff Handbook prior to the first contracted week.

Qualifications:
  • Teaching ability, communication skills, appropriate appearance, sincerity, attitude of sharing and personal testimony.

  • Willingness to adhere to FSY policy that prohibits promotion of any personal goods or services or any organization or its products.

  • Willingness to adhere to the FSY travel policy.

  • Accept as a condition of employment compliance with Brigham Young University Honor Code, FSY Dress Code, and to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

  • Set a strong example for participants by:

    Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and showing by example the joy and happiness which comes with that commitment.Teaching effectively the Gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the standard works and the words of the living prophets.Administering appropriately by following the teachings and principles of Christ-like leadership.Never sowing seeds of doubt.Preparing lessons well.Bearing heartfelt testimony.
  • Have previous EFY/FSY employment experience OR equivalent leadership experience supervising peers and/or youth.

  • Pass required background check for this position.

  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America for FSY, LLC. *Please note that the employer will not provide visa sponsorship for this position in the United States of America.

  • Be willing to travel to various FSY locations as needed. Travel to sessions is assigned, arranged, and paid for by FSY and will originate from and return to Brigham Young University (please see the FSY Travel policy on the FSY employment website).

  • If you are or have been involved with the FSY program as a counselor, assistant coordinator, health coordinator, or coordinator, we encourage you to wait 4 years to apply for an FSY Teaching position.
