Job Description:

The Electrical Engineering Frontline Manager is responsible for supervising and leading a team of Electrical Engineers, supporting planning, research & development, and execution of all engineering development tasking on projects, pursuits, and programs. The role requires technical and leadership knowledge in the design, development, and integration of circuit card assemblies and other electronics equipment and products for DoD applications. Responsibilities of the role include functional staffing (manpower/resource planning), recruiting, training, talent development, engagement, and retention of employees, and requires proactive collaboration with functional and business leadership teams to support business and program requirements and demands.

 

The role is hands-on, requiring regular technical engagement on programs, and taking on individual tasking as needed. It requires ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area and involves conducting briefings with senior leaders on occasion.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Leads Electrical Engineering development efforts, managing technical scope, and delivering to technical, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to individuals on the engineering team and to program teams, insuring high standards of technical competence and achievement.
  • Guide the development and delivery of system hardware and CCA/electronics development, providing task-level contributions to programs as needed.
  • Focus on team growth and development, planning and implementing strategies for adding breadth and depth of knowledge to the engineering team.
  • Responsible for providing input to program bids and generating bases of estimate.
  • Manage and direct the day-to-day activities of the Electrical Engineering team and make individual work assignments.
  • Monitor individual performance and prepare formal performance assessments.
  • Support of team for field service assignments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance at the DOD Secret level.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 6 years of experience in an engineering development environment; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, in lieu of a 1degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Proficient in EVMS, Control Account Management and design team leadership.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in leading and managing engineering personnel.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
  • Experience in Siemens EDM or comparable software.
  • Professional Knowledge: Advanced level of technical engineering skill/knowledge and the ability to keep up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated skills and abilities needed to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments.
  • Proven capability to solve technical problems while meeting the need of the customer.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment; getting things done through others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Works well with management, peers and direct reports.
  • Proficient in technical writing to include specifications, technical proposals and white papers, design reviews and technical presentations.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $106,500- $170,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
